Alexander McGowen is an automotive designer and certifiable car fanatic currently working as an Interior Design Manager at Stellantis in Auburn Hills Michigan. Since October 2018 he has been working as a creative designer in the Jeep interior design studio developing concepts for future production vehicle interiors. From October 2012 - 2018 he worked as a creative designer in Advanced Lighting at FCA where he had the very fortunate opportunity to be the principle designer for all of the exterior lighting on the 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL and the 2017 Chrysler Portal Concept among many other design responsibilities. Prior to this he had the opportunity to work briefly as a freelance/contract designer for Pat Murray and Chris Bangle where he developed concept sketches, renderings and ideation for a number of different clients in the transportation industry. Alex moved to Detroit immediately after high school in 2008 to pursue a career in the auto industry. He studied Automotive Design at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. He gained industry experience working as a Design Intern for the Dodge brand at Chrysler LLC in 2011 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Automotive Design when he graduated with honors in May, 2012. He has a keen eye and great conceptual ability to understand how and why things work. His design skills are at their strongest when innovative ideas are needed to solve technical problems.
